About This Build

Tenkuu‑dera is shaped by the quiet poetry of coastal temples — a place where life feels slower, gentler, and more intentional. The pagoda at its heart is a high‑accuracy recreation of the Square Tower of Songjiang, rising in layered rhythm above the shoreline. Its deepslate roofs and rich dark‑prismarine bands catch the sun like ink and jade, while mangrove timbers glow warmly against the sky. The island feels like a sanctuary suspended between sea and heaven.

Approaching by boat, there is a moment where the world seems to pause. Sakura petals drift across the water, lanterns shimmer along the pathways, and the gong pavilion stands ready to sound its deep, resonant note. It evokes a simpler time — when days were measured by the tide, when footsteps were unhurried, and when beauty was found in small, deliberate details. I wanted to capture not just the architecture, but the feeling of stepping into a place where the pace of life softens and the heart can breathe.

The huts that rest along the shoreline are shaped from real‑world examples — humble, grounded structures inspired by traditional coastal dwellings. Their proportions, rooflines, and timber framing echo the quiet practicality of homes built with care and intention. Inside the pagoda and throughout the village, the rooms are intentionally unfurnished, left open and quiet, waiting for the player to shape them. Tenkuu‑dera is meant to be a canvas for imagination, a space where creativity can take root and grow. Every chamber, every hut, every corner of the island invites you to decide what story it will tell.

Block Palette

A refined coastal‑temple palette built from the most defining materials in the structure:

Primary Materials: Mangrove for exterior red framing; dark oak for interior beams; deepslate tiles for layered roofing; dark prismarine for contrasting, deeply rich roof banding; smooth quartz for clean architectural walls; bamboo mosaic for interior floors; lanterns for warm ambient light.

Environmental Materials: Cherry leaves, stone, dirt, sand, water, flowers, greenery.

Village Materials: Dark oak, spruce, stone brick, cobblestone, bamboo, hay, lanterns.

A palette that blends warm timber, grounded stone, and rich contrasting roof accents into a unified coastal sanctuary.

Features

This ocean‑temple island unfolds like a quiet pilgrimage — structure by structure, path by path.

The pagoda rises at the center, its balconies lit softly by lanterns and its interior framed in dark oak beams. Smooth quartz walls brighten the space, while bamboo mosaic floors add warmth beneath your feet. The rooms inside are intentionally empty, offering a blank canvas for players to create their own stories, rituals, and memories.

The shoreline huts — two large and three small — are modeled after real‑world coastal dwellings, shaped with simple, intentional geometry and grounded timber framing. Their interiors are left open for the player to transform: storage, shops, roleplay spaces, or quiet living quarters. A stone mill adds a touch of rural authenticity, while the seven‑stall market stands ready for future chest‑shops or trading posts.

Ceremonial paths lead toward the Ō‑rin Wheel Shrine, where the great prayer wheel stands ready to be turned, and toward the gong pavilion, where a single strike can echo across the water. These spaces are designed to feel contemplative — places where time slows and intention deepens.

Sakura trees bloom across the island, their petals drifting into ponds and rice paddies shaped into the terrain. Shoreline stone, sand, and greenery create a natural edge where the ocean meets the land. Every detail — from the sculpted terrain to the quiet corners of the village — is designed to feel peaceful, ancient, and real.

Tenkuu‑dera is both beautiful and practical — a complete island sanctuary wrapped in historical and cultural architecture, ready for the player to bring to life.
